Quality Dog Training in OKC
Patiently Pawlished offers a comprehensive 4-week board-and-train program for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Training takes place on our family farm in Hardesty, with free transportation available to and from the Oklahoma City area, so distance is never the reason your dog doesn't get trained.
How Our Balanced Dog Training Program Works
Pack time and integration
Your dog is integrated into our balanced pack from day one. Some dogs settle in within days, others take a bit longer, but pack time builds the mental balance every dog needs before real training begins.
Daily structure
Training starts with something as simple as a walk down the driveway and builds from there. We steadily add commands, corrections, and praise as your dog progresses, with kennel time built in for rest and recovery between sessions.
The art of doing nothing
We don't just teach commands. We teach dogs how to be calm. Many dogs have busy minds that are always looking to investigate something new. We work continuously on helping your dog settle down and relax, an ability that carries over long after training ends.
Over 4 weeks, your dog will build real confidence and handling skills using a correction-and-reward system. Commands taught include Sit, Down, Wait, Stay, Place, Get In, Up, and Here (off-leash recall). Beyond commands, your dog will build patience, confidence, and handling skills used in everyday life, like loading in the car, waiting at doors, and respecting personal space.

Real-World Distractions We Train Around
In the final two weeks, most dogs are trustworthy off-leash on the farm, giving us the chance to practice recall around real distractions like cats, sheep, and other dogs. From there, we introduce new environments off the farm, including trips to dog-friendly stores in town, so your dog is prepared for real life, not just the training yard.
Off-Leash Recall & Real-World Practice
Go-Home Training Session
When the 4-week program is complete, we'll spend about an hour with you personally, walking through the commands and the correction-and-praise system your dog has learned. You'll go home with light homework and free lifetime access to follow-up sessions if you ever need a refresher.

Every dog comes to us with a different story. Some just need basic obedience and leash manners. Others are working through fear, reactivity, or bad habits that have been building for years. Whatever your dog's starting point, our program is built to meet them there and move them forward.
Training Without E-Collar Dependency
Our program does not depend on e-collars. Commands and leash obedience are taught without one — it's used sparingly, and only during the final weeks for recall work. Our goal is always to send home dogs that no longer need to wear a training collar at all.
